The Council of Ministers holds its session – through video communication – headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
On Tuesday, the Saudi Council of Ministers held its meeting via video call, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister.
At the beginning of the session, King Salman briefed the Council on the content of the phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, and what happened during the confirmation of the historical and strategic relations between the two friendly countries, and the concern to continue joint efforts to enhance the security and stability of the region, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The Cabinet continued the developments of the Corona pandemic, the efforts taken at the local and international levels to control it, the cases registered in the Kingdom, the care and care provided to it and the efforts of the concerned authorities to preserve the health of citizens and residents, and to contain the pandemic. The result of the extensive examination and active surveying in all regions of the Kingdom is the speed of investigation and urgent care of cases, and the contribution, by the grace of God, to a very low rate of deaths compared to the global average.
The Council expressed its appreciation for the tireless efforts made by the state agencies and the relevant committees and their work teams to combat the pandemic, while addressing the implications for the health and economic aspects, stressing the need for the commitment of citizens and residents to implement precautionary measures and preventive measures; To prevent the virus from spreading.
The Minister of Information in charge, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, stated that the Cabinet confirmed the Kingdom’s endeavor to support the stability of global oil markets, noting in this context what the Kingdom announced of its commitment to the recent (OPEC Plus) agreement regarding reducing production of crude oil, and to an initiative The Kingdom to reduce its production in the coming month of June, with an additional voluntary amount of one million barrels per day, as well as its efforts in agreement with customers to reduce its production in the month of May, from the target level.
The Council indicated that the Kingdom aims from these initiatives to urge the countries participating in the OPEC Plus agreement, and other producing countries, to adhere to the rates of reduction set for them, and to provide more reduction in production, to contribute to restoring the desired balance of global oil markets.
The Council of Ministers promised to invite the Kingdom to organize the Donors’ Conference for Yemen 2020, on the second of June next, under the direction of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and with the participation of the United Nations, that this is an extension of its humanitarian and development contribution globally and in Yemen in particular, and an affirmation of its leadership role in supporting Yemen and lifting the human suffering from the brotherly Yemeni people, as it is the first donor to Yemen historically, especially its humanitarian and relief assistance and aid to Yemeni refugees and development assistance through reconstruction and support to the Central Bank of Yemen in the past five years.
Al-Qasabi indicated that the Council reviewed, a number of reports on the developments of events and their progress on the regional and international arenas, once again welcoming the Kingdom to the announcement of the formation of the new Iraqi government, its standing with Iraq, and its willingness to work with the new Iraqi government on the basis of cooperation, mutual respect, historical ties, and common interests, in the interests of Within the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples in all fields, in a manner that enhances the security of the region and achieves its stability.
The Cabinet reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in its study, and what was achieved by the Economic and Development Affairs Council, the Political and Security Affairs Council, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Cabinet.
The Council concluded that:
Approval of a memorandum of understanding in the field of civil protection and civil defense between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Approval of a memorandum of understanding in the field of Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic sheikh in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The authorization of the Minister of Information – or his representative – to negotiate with the Kazakhstan side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Information and Social Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of media cooperation, signing it, and then submitting the final signed copy, to complete the regular procedures.
Approval of a memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Approval of an agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Senegal in the field of air transport services.
The mandate of the head of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Commission – or his representative – to negotiate with the Tunisian side on a draft memorandum of understanding between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Anti-Corruption Authority in the Tunisian Republic in the area of preventing and combating corruption, signing it, and then submitting the final version Signed, to complete the formalities.
Approval of the mechanism for recording and documenting foreign aid provided by the Kingdom.
Approval of amending some articles of the mental health care system, issued by Royal Decree No. (M / 56) dated 20/9/1435 AH, as stated in the decision.
