Eigner Bernal, Tour de France champion, and his number of shirts will be on sale at an auction for children’s charity in Colombia, in the midst of the Corona Virus crisis.

In a video message posted on Twitter, the 23-year-old rider said he would put his Pinarello bike in addition to a white T-shirt from the Tour de France 2019 (for best rising rider), yellow shirts and Inius team shirt for sale at an auction.

The auction proceeds will go to a charity that supplies Colombian children with food.

And Bernal is the latest current or former large bike rider to contribute to global efforts to help caregivers during the Corona Virus crisis after two times French champion Alberto Contador who put one of his previous bikes on sale at an auction on Wednesday.

Polish champion Mikhaw Kvyatkovsky, the 2015 world champion, also offered to loan apartments he owns to doctors and nurses.
