A member of the Saudi Historical Society, Zahi Al-Khelwi, revealed a series of serious epidemics that have struck the Kingdom throughout history, killing thousands of people.

Regarding the epidemics, their history and damages, Al-Khulwi said to “previously” in the year 1224 AH that the epidemic and disease intensified in the town of Dir’iyyah, and many people died in it, so that he died in forty and forty souls, and Imam Saud then wrote eloquent advice to the people of Dir’iyyah, and urged people to abandon sins The sincere repentance, and God Almighty recently called a great supplication to lift the harm and the epidemic from the people, and this advice was read to the people in the mosques of Diriyah and the epidemic rose after the mercy of God to His servants.

He added: In the year 1229 AH, there occurred in the countries of Sudir, Manich, a pandemic, a fever and a great disease, in which many creatures died, and more than those who died in them were men of glory, until they reached more than six hundred souls, between the big and the small, the male and the female.

And Abizaid: In the year 1236 AH, the great epidemic occurred, which affected the world and the deadliest creatures in all horizons, which is the pain that occurs in the abdomen, which facilitates the vomiting of the liver and dies more than one who suffers from that day, or after two or three days, and it is among the Saudi regions in which Sudair and Al-Ahsa occurred.

He continued: In the year 1246 AH, a great epidemic occurred in Makkah before the pilgrim arriving in the month of Shawwal, which is the epidemic known as Abu Zuwaya, which is the Aqas, then that in the half of the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah, it afflicted many of the people of Mecca and the people of Hijaz of every kind, and died in it not counted Except God, in all the people of the countries present in Mecca, so that the dead were left without finding someone to bury them, so sixteen thousand souls died in Makkah, and there was little left of the Shami pilgrim, and from the pilgrim of the people we find every country perished from their pilgrimage as much as half and more and some of them Less, then the epidemic rose upon the entry of Dhu al-Hijjah, so when the day of slaughter came, the epidemic and death came again, so a person dies while walking, and it continues to grow and intensify. Rah in the days of Mina until the dead became trapped in the streets, and people came down from Mina and the camels loaded with the dead, and intensified in Mecca after the descent from Mina and the markets and roads were filled with the dead, and the people were unable to bury them and that epidemic continued to twenty of Dhu al-Hijjah then slowly increased.

He continued: At the end of the year 1247 AH, the plague occurred, and many countries were destroyed, and nations were destroyed in it, and people were left without homes, and people remained in their homes, epilepsy, and they were not buried, and their money did not have a ruler. He feeds it and watered it, until most of it died, and the mosques remained in which no congregation was established, and those who did not count it except God Almighty died.

And he concluded the cell saying: In the year 1337 AH called (the year of mercy) a great epidemic occurred on the whole island – a disease (the Spanish flu) that pervaded the world – and died in it creatures counted only by God Almighty, and the majority of death was in women and boys, and deaths reached Riyadh is close to a thousand souls, the same as Buraidah and Unaizah, and every country has its share of epidemic and mortality, and the epidemic stayed for nearly 40 days, then God Almighty raised it.
