The Saudi national football team coach, French Herve Ronard, announced today, Saturday, the reduction of his salary in support of health departments in the Kingdom in the face of the emerging Corona virus.
“I decided to participate in supporting the country’s health departments by reducing my salary,” Ronard said in a tweet on his Twitter account.
He added: “I took this initiative to support all the efforts made in the fight against the Corona virus. I wish you all the best, stay home.”
The official account of the Saudi national team commented on the Ronar initiative by tweeting: “Thank you, our wonderful coach, for your initiative in reducing your salary in light of the Corona virus crisis.”
Ronar’s decision came days after the Saudi football clubs agreed to reduce the salaries of players by 50 percent in light of the stoppage of matches for more than a month, specifically since the fifteenth of last March due to the spread of the “Coved 19” virus.
Ronard took charge of the training of “Greens” to succeed Argentine Juan Antonio Pizzi, whose contract expired after the last Asian Cup in the Emirates.
