The Lebanese pound continues to fluctuate against the American dollar despite the attempts of the Lebanese Central Bank to determine the price of the Lebanese pound against the dollar and the statements about the severity of the economic crisis, which overshadows the projects sector in particular.

The exchange rate of the dollar against the Lebanese pound on the black market today, Wednesday, April 8, 2020 between 2800 Lebanese pounds for sale and 2870 pounds for purchase.

The Central Bank of Lebanon had issued its circulars by setting the exchange rate of the dollar against the Lebanese pound at 2,600 pounds for one dollar to withdraw deposits less than 3000 US dollars, equivalent to 5 million Lebanese pounds.

In the same context, Bloomberg Agency stressed the impact of the global economic crisis on remittances from expatriates, especially from Lebanon, whose value is estimated at 690 billion dollars, making Lebanon the most affected country alongside Ukraine and the Philippines.

And Bloomberg said in a previous report that the Lebanese pound suffers from a weakening of 46% of its official value estimated at 1515 pounds, according to “lebanon24”.
