The International Federation was forced to reschedule its championships dates after the Tokyo Olympics, which were scheduled between July 24 and August 9, 2020, were postponed until next year.
The Olympic qualifiers, scheduled for June 23-28 of this year, will be held between June 22 and July 4 2020, pending the approval of the International Olympic Committee.
The men’s and European championships, which were scheduled for 2021, were postponed to the period from September 1 to 18, 2022.
The Americas Women’s Championship will be held between 20 and 27 June next year before the start of the Olympics.
The European Women’s Championship will be held from 17 to 27 June 2021.
The women’s Olympic qualifiers ended in February, when Belgium, Canada, Australia, France, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Serbia, China, Spain and South Korea joined Japan, the hospitality champion, and the United States held the title in the 12-team tournament.
Eight teams have already booked their place in the men’s championship. United States, Nigeria, Argentina, Iran, France, Australia, and Spain, world champion, based on their results at the 2019 World Cup, joined the hospitality Japan.
The remaining four cards will be determined by four qualifying tournaments in which 24 countries participate, in which the winner of each tournament will only be promoted to participate in the summer games.
