The European Medicines Agency of the European Union has set, on Tuesday, the expected time frame for the first vaccine for the emerging coronavirus to be ready and available in sufficient quantities, according to what Sky News Arabia published on its website.

The European Agency said in a statement published by “Sky News Arabia”: “It takes at least one year, before the vaccine against Covid-19 becomes ready for approval, and is available in quantities sufficient for widespread use.”

She added that this depends on the current information available and previous experience of developing vaccines.

The agency, which is based in Amsterdam, pointed out that two vaccines had already entered the first phase of clinical trials conducted on healthy volunteers, and the agency considered that it is generally “difficult to expect time frames for the development of medical products.”
