According to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, the report highlights the distinguished efforts of government agencies that have joined forces in activating digital initiatives and achievements in various sectors by adopting digital transformation in all its fields, contributing to finding sustainable digital job opportunities and accelerating digital transformation across different sectors, as well as preparing for the next stage Growth, more local content, and more digital economy’s contribution to GDP.

Absher platform

The report includes a set of distinguished accomplishments and initiatives in all sectors, most notably: In the smart government sector, where more than 26 million operations were carried out on the “Absher” platform, with an estimated financial saving of 15 billion riyals annually, and more than 44 million operations implemented in the service of ” Unified national enforcement. ”

On the civil service level, more than 3 million citizens have benefited from the electronic services provided on the platform, the time of end-of-service procedures has been reduced to 48 hours, while more than 3 million shipments have been delivered via the national address.

Paperless court

In the justice sector, the concept of a paperless court was achieved through a 75 percent reduction in paper use and by 179 operating court systems for the electronic system.

In the digital health sector, more than 36 million appointments were booked on the “appointment” platform, and more than 11 million residents of the Kingdom were registered in the “unified health file”. In the digital education sector, more than 36 million certificates were saved to the “Noor” system. While more than 200 thousand electronic visas were issued from the tourist visa platform in the digital tourism and culture sector.


In the digital architecture sector, 3 million homes have been covered with fiber optics, and more than 300,000 homes have wireless broadband networks.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also achieved the results of these achievements with a noticeable progress in the international indicators, as the Kingdom was the most advanced and reformed according to the Ease of Doing Business report, as the Kingdom ranked third globally for the largest fifth generation networks, and among the countries of the twenty achieved the Kingdom ranked second in the liberalization of frequency bands.

Saudi Arabia’s rank in the index of starting and doing business in the World Bank report rose from 141 rank to 38 globally, the Kingdom also ranked third among the G20 countries in technical governance, and Riyadh ranked 30th for smart and sustainable cities according to the evaluation of the United Nations Organization.

Saudi Arabia also ranked 13th worldwide in the average internet speed, making the mobile Internet speed 50.80MB / s, while the fixed internet download speeds in the Kingdom achieved 50.68MB / s.
