Several countries want to join the OPEC alliance

A number of countries wish to join the existing alliance between the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and members outside the organization, the Russian Information Agency said, quoting a source.

The source told the agency that it is possible to discuss the inclusion of new members as well as implement a significant reduction in production by ten million barrels per day at a meeting to be held on the sixth of April. The agency added that no cuts have been set yet.

The agency added that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy said today, Friday, that a meeting of the OPEC group of oil producers will be held on April 6, via closed-circuit television.

The ministry indicated that it is expected that all OPEC countries will participate and that discussion will take place on achieving price stability in the oil market.

In this context, US crude futures reduced losses previously incurred, and rose to the highest level in the session at $ 25.84 a barrel.
