While art galleries and museums are closed due to the Covid-19 epidemic, about fifty artists residing in Berlin present their work on the balcony of the buildings and invite the public to “intimate visit” to discover their creativity.
“While freedom of movement is suspended, the balconies have become unique locations for daily shows and for civil mobilization,” said the gathering of artists who supervised this project in the Prenzlauer Berg art district in the east of the German capital.
“The balconies are emergency exits, to breathe and spend time in the sun or smoke” in the shadow of the home stone, said exhibition commissioners Ufful Dormosoglu and Ioana Farsa, who asked artists to unleash their cells.
In Berlin, where curiosities are less strict than other German provinces, hikers and curiosities are called upon to raise their heads to witness these works, including a ladder made of tree branches and black and white photographs of people standing on their balcony in Athens or Cordoba.
One of the facilities includes long pieces of toilet paper on the front of a building that testifies to the rush by Germans to this product, which has become invaluable since the emergence of the new Corona virus in Europe.
Organizers said that this artistic demonstration “without a budget, without opening and without attendance, is an intimate walk in search of indicators of life and art.”
