Postponing the Tokyo Olympics, Winter Olympics organizers confuse

The organizers of the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 announced that they are facing a “special situation” after the Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020 were postponed to next year, and thus the period between the two Olympic Games is less than six months.

The Summer Olympics, which had been scheduled for the period from July 24 to August 9, was postponed to July 23 to August 821 due to the new Corona virus.

The Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing from the 4th to the 20th of February 2022 in an unprecedented challenge in organizing two consecutive Olympic sessions separated by a few months.

“The new dates for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo mean that we are facing a special situation where the summer and winter games will be held in half a year,” an official with the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee told Xinhua.

“We will have a detailed assessment of how the new Tokyo 2020 dates will affect the Beijing 2022 Games,” he added.

“In the meantime, we will keep in close contact with the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic family to deal with the situation correctly and continue our readiness in all aspects.”

China says that the “Covid-19” virus appeared in December before it spread to the world, that its preparations to host the 2022 Olympics are taking place as planned, despite the closure of a large part of the country last February in an attempt to stop the spread of The virus.

Beijing will become the first city to host the Summer and Winter Olympic Games after it hosted the 2008 Olympics
