Construction work continues on the Qiddiya entertainment project, southwest of Riyadh, despite the current circumstances resulting from the consequences of the spread of Corona virus (Covid 19).
The Department of Leadership confirmed that all precautionary and preventive measures that the Ministry of Health had indicated to confront Corona were taken, as construction work on the project site is carried out safely.
A video clip posted by the official cash account on “Twitter” showed a group of cranes and “dredgers” that continue to excavate, shovel and removal works, while no human elements appear on the site.
It is noteworthy that the Qiddiya project, which is to become the capital of entertainment, sports and arts in the Kingdom, was launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on April 7, 2017, and its foundation stone was laid on April 28, 2018.
The project extends over an area of 334 square kilometers, and the first phase of it is scheduled to open in 2023, and the third and final phase of it in 2030.
