Microsoft is experiencing a massive increase in demand for its cloud services during the current Corona Virus pandemic. The company said in a published blog, “We have witnessed a 775% increase in our cloud services in areas that imposed social dispersal or a curfew.” This increase in demand includes the use of Windows Virtual Desktop that has grown more than 3 times, and a significant rise on Microsoft Teams, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live and Mixer platforms. Microsoft has started adjusting its cloud services accordingly. As “Xbox” published a message saying, “To simplify supervision and ensure the best experience for our community, we are making small adjustments.” We’ve paused the ability to upload photos dedicated to players and social clubs; existing Xbox games will work fine, but Microsoft is trying to reduce the load on the supervisory team that checks for new downloads during the overall increase in Xbox Live activity.
