Common denominator among thousands of corona deaths in New York


New data released by New York showed a common denominator among the majority of deaths that hit the state since the start of the new Corona virus outbreak, according to a report by the newspaper “USA Today”.

The newspaper said that the state authorities began publishing data on the dead virus to raise awareness among the population of the risks of the virus.

According to these data, the majority of deaths, which exceeded 4,700 deaths due to the emerging corona virus, were among men.

The newspaper report showed that 86 percent of deaths were from people who had suffered from other underlying diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

The statistics provided the latest snapshot of how the rapidly spreading virus has affected New York and made it the center of the Covid Center-19 in the country.

Of the 4,758 deaths in New York since March 14, 61 percent were men and 39 percent were women, the state’s health department said of the new data portal.

In addition, 63 percent of deaths were among those aged 70 and over, while 7 percent of deaths were 49 years or more.

According to the report, 4,089 of those who died had at least another chronic disease, respectively. The main underlying disease for 55 percent of deaths was hypertension, while about 37 percent was the main diabetes.

Other major diseases found in those who died from the virus were hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, kidney disease and dementia ..

The newspaper said that the state began publishing more details about the virus cases just hours after a previous article, in which it urged state authorities’ experts to publish as much detail as possible to help people understand the virus and its risks.

Health experts and government officials have long warned that the virus “prey” on the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions.
