China’s National Health Commission said on Tuesday that Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province and the epicenter of the outbreak in China, had reported one new case, five days after no new cases were reported.

The mainland saw a double increase in new cases of coronavirus, driven by a jump in the number of infected people coming from abroad, while a number of cases transmitted locally were recorded in the daily toll of the infections.

The National Health Commission said China had 78 new cases of corona on Monday, two times more than on Sunday.

Among the new cases, there were 74 cases of people coming from abroad, up from 39 on Sunday.

Three locally transmitted cases were reported in other regions of China.
