Thousands of Egyptians gathered Sunday in front of medical analysis laboratories after a decision by the Saudi authorities to prohibit entry to any of them without the availability of tests to prove that they are free of the Corona virus, to be conducted 24 hours before the date of travel.
The Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, monitored the presence of thousands of Egyptians in the streets in front of laboratories and would not be able to return to work in Saudi Arabia without a medical examination.
The cost of conducting the examination is one thousand Egyptian pounds for citizens, and 70 dollars for non-Egyptians wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia.
Gulf countries such as Qatar have announced a ban on entry of Egyptians to their lands due to the new Corona virus, while Kuwait has stopped issuing visas to the Egyptian community.
Egyptian Health Minister Hala Zayed announced on Saturday that Egypt had registered 33 new infections with the new Corona virus on board a ship in the Nile, specifically in Luxor, in the south of the country.
Zayed said that the statistics indicate that there are “33 cases, all of whom are infected with the virus and have no symptoms.”
She explained that the new cases came after conducting virus detection tests for workers and foreigners on board the ship after discovering 12 cases on it that were announced on Friday, raising the number of injuries on the Luxor ship to 45 cases.
But she made it clear on Saturday that 11 of the injuries announced on Friday were “negative”.
The injured were placed in an isolation hospital. “A US citizen of Taiwan origin is the cause of the injuries,” Zayed said on board.
The Egyptian authorities had previously announced the discovery of three HIV infections, the first for a “recovered” Chinese citizen, according to the minister, the second for a Canadian petroleum engineer, and the third for a 44-year-old Egyptian man who returned from Serbia via France, where he spent 12 hours.
On the other hand, the ship raises fears after it detected cases of the emerging virus Corna outside the country, the owners were on board during their visit to Egypt.
And Thursday, Texas health officials announced that they had detected five cases of the Corona virus, all of whom were on a visit to Egypt, and had taken a trip through a ship suspected of being the same ship they had returned to their home on February 20.
There is also a California husband and wife who were diagnosed with the virus caused by the virus after their return, and they were on this ship in mid-February, according to the New York Times.
On Thursday, authorities in Maryland, near Washington, DC, reported three cases of a 70-year-old man and woman and a woman in the 1950s from Montgomery County.
It was also found that all three were on board the cruise ship last month and were diagnosed with the disease about two weeks after they returned from abroad, according to state governor Larry Hogan.
