The University of Sharjah and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing the care of local talent in the field of information and communication technology and providing it with the knowledge and skills necessary for advanced information and communication technology (ICT).
The memorandum was signed through the technology of “visual communication”, Dr. Hamid Mujul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, and Li Shi, CEO of Huawei in the UAE, in the presence of a number of officials of both parties.
The Director of the University of Sharjah stressed the importance of signing the memorandum to enhance cooperation with the company in the field of communications and information technology, noting that the university is keen to strengthen its cooperation with prestigious scientific institutions and technology companies around the world in order to serve and develop the community.
For his part, Li Shi affirmed the commitment of Huawei in the UAE to closer cooperation with the University of Sharjah to develop local talents of information and communication technology and encourage future cooperation in the digital community.
The memorandum provides for the strengthening of training and certification programs, through the use of the Huawei ICT Academy platform.
The company will work in this regard to provide and enhance training programs for members of the university’s academic staff, and then grant them an academic trainer certificate “HCAI”, in addition to adding a “HAINA” network certificate course as a support course for the university’s curricula and work to strengthen it in the field of information and communications technology in the UAE United along with other things.
