The United Arab Emirates has decided to “temporarily suspend” the procedures for obtaining entry visas upon arrival at the country’s outlets for holders of exempt passports, with the exception of diplomatic passport holders, starting at 0100 am on Thursday, Emirates time corresponding to March 19, 2020.
In a statement today, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship explained that this comes within the framework of the preventive and precautionary measures taken by the state in response to raising the level of the new Corona virus “Covid-19” by the World Health Organization and considered it a “pandemic”.
She pointed out that the temporary suspension decision that will apply to holders of passports exempt from obtaining a prior visa comes until a mechanism for medical examination is activated in the country of departure as an additional measure, due to what the world’s countries are witnessing in terms of confronting the new Corona virus from precautionary and preventive measures targeting the public interest of all countries.
