On February 12, the League announced the acceptance of nomination applications submitted by Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi for the President category, Jamal Hamid Al-Marri for the Vice President category, Muhammad Obaid Al-Yamahi, Nasser Ibrahim Al-Dhafari, Hassan Talib Al-Marri, Tariq Ali Al-Shabibi and Saeed Obaid Al-Kaabi for the member category.The Association stated in a statement that the previous candidates have completed all the requirements stipulated in the statute and the electoral list for the League.
And while Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi and Jamal Hamid Al-Marri won the positions of President and Vice President by acclamation, as there were no competitors for them, and the clubs will elect three members from the list of candidates for membership of the League’s Board of Directors.
The official website of the UAE Professional League published a summary of the candidates, explaining that the next president, Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, was born in 1975 and holds a master’s degree in management engineering from George Washington DC University from the United States of America. He started his sports career since 2005 as general secretary in the club. Unit.
His relationship with the Professional League began as a member of the founding committee and then he became a member of the association’s board of directors and head of the technical committee, then head of the executive office.
Al-Junaibi chaired the Board of Directors of Al-Wahda Football Club from 2012 to 2016, and since 2016 he held the positions of Vice President of the Emirates Football Association, President of the UAE Professionals Association, Vice President of the Southwest Asian Football Federation, Chairman of the Technical Committee and National Teams of the Football Association, member of the AFC Competitions Committee Al-Qadam, member of the 2019 Asian Cup Committee, member of the Organizing Committee for the Arab Championship.
