The dollar fell against most major currencies during today’s trading despite US President Donald Trump’s attempts to calm the markets.
President Trump said in a tweet on his Twitter account that oil losses are good for consumers in the United States and other countries and blamed Russia, Saudi Arabia and media agencies for the losses.
President Trump stressed that thousands of deaths occurred last year in the United States and other countries due to influenza, and the media did not shed light on them, but because of this time’s focus on the Corona virus, global markets have incurred heavy losses.
In a related context, the Director of the International Monetary Fund, “Kristalina Georgieva” called on the countries of the world to intensify efforts for the atmosphere of the virus and face its repercussions on the global economy.
In terms of trading, the dollar index (against a number of major currencies) by 18:31 GMT, fell 1.1% to 94.9 points, and recorded the highest level at 96.1 points and the lowest level at 94.6 points.
