The Council of Senior Religious Scholars in Saudi Arabia: The Umrah suspension is Sharia-compliant


The General Secretariat of the Senior Scholars Association clarified that the decision to temporarily suspend Umrah for citizens and residents by the responsible authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an extension of the precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom’s government to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus, considering that it is a responsible and successful decision required by the legitimate interest calling for the protection of the souls of people Their religion, their minds, their money, and their offspring, as Islamic law decided that whatever preserves these assets or one of them is a deemed interest required, and all that misses or one of these assets is corrupt and paid an interest.

She said in a statement issued on Wednesday, according to Al Arabiya website: “These precautionary measures that are constantly reviewed in light of the data internally and externally are in conformity with the legal rules to pay the damage before it occurs by possible prevention methods, and to raise the damage after it occurs with possible measures that remove its effects.”

In this regard, she affirmed the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and a careful follow-up by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to preserve the safety and security of citizens, residents, and those who intend the Two Holy Mosques.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars recommended that all citizens and residents take full care of what is issued by the responsible authorities in the Kingdom and take them into consideration, including medical instructions, indicating that these procedures are an apparent legitimate interest and cooperation with them from cooperation on righteousness and piety.
