The Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi issued two separate circulars, the first for owners of amusement and entertainment games and electronic games halls, and the second for cinemas, to stop their activities temporarily, in line with the preventive measures and procedures for public health and safety measures for the community and prevent the spread of Corona “Covido-19” virus.
His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al-Shurafa, Head of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi said: The decision to temporarily stop the practice of these activities at the level of the Abu Dhabi Emirate is in line with the special preventive measures imposed by the competent authorities in the emirate and the state in general to combat the spread of the Corona virus “Covid-19” and maintain health And community safety.
His Excellency clarified that the two decisions affirm the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi’s concern to protect citizens and residents at the emirate level and its commitment to achieving the highest level of requirements and conditions for human and community health and safety and to preserve them and protect them from risks that harm public health in all its forms.
In turn, His Excellency Rashid Abdul Karim Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi said that according to the precautionary principle and the implementation of proactive measures to prevent diseases, the decision stipulated that temporarily prohibiting the provision of cinema shows to the public and opening entertainment and entertainment halls and electronic games in order to prevent the gathering of individuals in one place.
He stressed that the relevant authorities concerned with the implementation of the two decisions will be subject to the penalty of clause 72, which stipulates non-compliance with the circulars issued by the department or the instructions, conditions and controls issued by it, where the value of the violation begins with 3,000 dirhams and ends with 10,000 dirhams, then closure in the event of a repeat of the violation, according to the terms Table of violations of economic activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The department’s representative stated that inspection campaigns will be carried out by the department to determine the implementation of the decision, as the legislation in force will be applied to any violation of the two circulars .. indicating that the recent decisions issued by the department included the beginning of stopping the service of providing “hookah” shisha in restaurants and cafes at the emirate’s level Abu Dhabi mainly focuses on protecting members of society and protecting them from diseases and transmission of infection, temporarily as the situation will be studied and sound decisions taken in this field.
It is worth noting that the two decisions stipulated that the relevant authorities work to implement it from the date of its issuance until another notice with an emphasis on commitment to work in accordance with the necessary measures taken by the UAE, and to ensure continuous coordination with the relevant authorities related to the health and safety of community members at the emirate level.
