Today, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tidros Adhanum Ghebrysos, extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for his leadership and efforts to preserve the safety of the world and limit the spread of the new Corona virus.

“I send my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his leadership and efforts to preserve the integrity of the world and limit the spread of the new Corona virus,” Tedros said in a tweet via his Twitter account. I am delighted to address the leaders of the Group of Twenty tomorrow and urge them to continue to express their solidarity against the Coruna virus.

Today, the leaders of the Group of Twenty, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, will hold an extraordinary virtual summit, via video conference, to discuss the repercussions of the crisis in the Coruna epidemic. According to a press release on the Saudi G20.

The summit will also discuss ways to move forward in coordinating global efforts to combat the Corona pandemic and reduce its humanitarian and economic impact.

The leaders of the G20 invited the participating countries to the extraordinary summit, which includes: the Kingdom of Spain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Singapore, and the Federal Republic of Switzerland, as well as the World Health Organization, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the United Nations, and the Food Agriculture, the Financial Stability Board, the International Labor Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Trade Organization.

Regional organizations will be represented by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as President of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Republic of South Africa as President of the African Union, the United Arab Emirates as President of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and the Republic of Rwanda as President of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development.
