Service activity in America fell to an all-time low

The industrial and service sectors in the United States have slowed sharply this month as a result of the impact of the “corona” virus, particularly on the service sector, which constitutes about two thirds of the largest economy in the world.

IHC Market data showed that the PMI index for the US service sector fell to 39.1 points this month, the lowest level ever, and recorded the largest monthly drop since October 2009 compared to February’s reading of 49.4 points.

The purchasing managers’ index of manufacturing activity in the United States also fell to 49.2 points this month, which is the lowest level in more than ten years.
