Samsung is the only company to manufacture camera sensors with an accuracy of more than 100 megapixels, and rumors say that the company will raise the competition further by unveiling a sensor of 150 megapixels later this year.

This sensor will be huge, it will be noticeably larger than the Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, which is the first 108-megapixel sensor in the world. Better yet, it will finally arrive at the 1 / 1.2 inch sensor that Nokia used in the Nokia 808 PureView phone.

The next 105-megapixel sensor from Samsung will use the Nonacell pixel-merging technology that integrates 9 pixels into one pixel, resulting in capturing 16-megapixel images instead of the 12-megapixels that the Galaxy S20 Ultra captures images because the sensor used in the latter merges Only four pixels to form one pixel.

Xiaomi is expected to be the first to use the new sensor, and it is slated to launch in the fourth quarter of this year. Next, Oppo and Vivo will follow in early 2021. Of course, Samsung will use the sensor in its flagship phones as well, most likely it will be the start with the next generation of the Galaxy S Series phones, given the time frame.
