Dr. Hashem Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy told Al-Khaleej that the idea of ​​“controlled consumer” launched by the Ministry of Economy is an innovative campaign for consumer participation in market oversight, and immediate reporting via the hotline of any cases of price violations in the lists Selected.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Economy imposes immediate fines, in accordance with the law, amounting to 100 thousand dirhams against commercial shops manipulating prices, stressing that the ministry will not tolerate any violating place that takes advantage of the precautionary measures taken by the state to confront the Corona virus.
He stressed that the administration receives observations around the clock, and implements extensive control campaigns on state markets, in cooperation with the relevant local authorities and periodic follow-up of the markets, to prevent any price manipulation.
He called on consumers not to be silent about any violation or complaint they monitor, and to report any price hikes in commodities at various outlets, whether by phone or through the e-mail, to take legal action against violators.
