Google will give preference in search results to mobile support sites

Google announced today, Thursday, that starting next September, it will start implementing its initiative that gives preference in search results for websites that are designed with mobile devices in mind.

The technology giant announced this initiative in 2016, and has since been indexing websites to find mobile-friendly sites.

After small tests, Google began last year to expand the initiative to include the proportion of indexing based on the preference of mobile-friendly sites by last December, more than half of the web pages that are displayed in search results. Now the percentage is 70%.

Google says: Most of the websites are ready for the new system, and will seek in the coming months to alert the late websites in supporting mobile devices. Webmasters can check the status of their sites through the link Google has designated for that.
