English football officials extended the suspension of local matches until next April 30, after an emergency meeting held by the Premier League and Premier League associations EFL on Thursday.

This decision comes after the postponement of the European Cup for the national teams from next summer to the summer of 2021, which opened the door for extending the deadline for the end of the league if the circumstances of the outbreak of the virus that overburdened the old continent’s championships allowed.

“We have decided collectively to extend the postponement of professional matches in England until Thursday 30 April,” said the subscriber’s statement to the English Football Association, the League leagues, players and coaches.

“We are united in our commitment to find ways to resume the 2019-2020 soccer season and to ensure that all domestic and European matches are played after things are safe and possible,” the statement added.

The local competitions were initially postponed last Friday until the fourth of next April, after the Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and the young Chelsea winger Calum Hudson-Odoi were infected, among other cases, with the “Covid-19” virus.

Liverpool, European Champions 2019, top the league standings with a 25-point lead over Manchester City’s closest rival, and it was closer than ever to its first title since 1990.

Recent suspension decisions included the cancellation of England’s friendly matches with Italy and Denmark on March 27-31.

Everton also announced a quarantine on his team, and Manchester City isolated one of his players after a member of his family conducted tests to detect the Corona virus.

Both Watford and Bournemouth have also announced individual isolation of some of their players due to symptoms and concerns about the virus.

The Northern Irish coach, Brandon Rodgers, coach of Leicester City revealed that a number of his players had symptoms of Corona virus infection and had been “removed” from their colleagues.
