Amid the spread of the Corona virus, Emirates Airlines takes precautionary measures that include cleaning and disinfection of surfaces that passengers come into contact with before each flight.
According to the Emirates Airlines website, approved and environmentally friendly chemicals are used in order to eliminate viruses and germs, and also leave these materials on the surfaces with protective layers, which will remain in effect for a long time, preventing any subsequent contamination with the virus.
And if it appears that one of the aircraft has transferred a case infected or suspected of being infected with the Coronavirus, the cleaning and disinfection procedures extend for about 6 to 8 hours, spraying the interior with disinfectants, and providing them with “HEPA” air filters, which are capable of removing 99.97% of viruses, germs, Fungi, and dust.
The Emirates website stated that the sterilization operations for the next flight require a team of 18 people working for one hour, while the Airbus “A380” needs a team of 36 workers. On average, 248 aircraft are subjected to comprehensive sterilization daily before departure from Dubai.
It is reported that Emirates Airlines will have the opportunity to change their travel dates and reissue tickets, which were booked before March 31, 2020, without any fees. Customers will not incur any cancellation fees for tickets issued between March 7, until March 31, 2020.
