The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population and the World Health Organization said in a joint statement today, Thursday, that Egypt recorded the first infection with the Corona virus of a citizen who returned from Serbia via France.
Egypt previously recorded two cases of foreigners, one of whom recovered and was allowed to leave the quarantine.
The statement stated that Al-Masry, who is 44 years old and spent 12 hours in France during his trip, did not show any symptoms upon his arrival, but after a few days he went to a hospital due to the appearance of some mild symptoms on him.
The laboratory added that “his laboratory analyzes were conducted which were positive today, Thursday … and he is now being transferred to the isolation hospital designated to receive the necessary medical care.”
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced that it had examined 1,904 suspected cases of coronavirus, but all results were negative.
