LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Walt Disney Company said in a statement on Tuesday it would postpone the release of “Black Widow” due to an outbreak of the Corona Virus in light of the closure of cinemas and advise people to avoid gatherings.
The action and action thriller, starring Scarlett Johansson, was due to open in the summer season and start in cinemas on May 1. Disney has not announced a new date for the launch of the movie, which is set in the Marvel Superheroes world within the Avengers series.
The company had announced that it would also delay the release of the films (The Personal Historics of David Copperfield) and (The Woman in the Window) after they were due to launch in May.
The company also retracted the release of “Mulan” and two other films in light of the global epidemic of Corona.
