China: The number of new infections in Corona continues to decline

Chinese health authorities said today, Sunday, that China recorded 45 new infections with the new virus in the mainland on Saturday, down from 54 the previous day.

She added that all but one of the new injuries is for travelers from abroad.

During the past seven days, China has recorded 313 cases coming from abroad, compared to only six domestic infections.

Most of the cases coming from abroad are for Chinese people returning home. Airlines were ordered to cut international flights significantly from Sunday. Also yesterday, restrictions on foreigners arriving in the country began.

Five people died yesterday, Saturday, all in Wuhan, the industrial center where the epidemic appeared in December. However, Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, has reported only one new infection with the Corona virus over the past 10 days.

The total number of deaths due to the virus on the Chinese mainland was 3,300 in total, while the number of infections was 81,439.

Saturday was the fourth day in a row that Hubei province had not registered any new confirmed infections.

As traffic restrictions in Hubei were lifted, Wuhan gradually began reopening the borders and resuming operation of some transportation services.

The only local case recorded on Saturday was in Hainan Province, near Hubei.

With expectations for the world’s second largest economy to shrink this quarter, for the first time in four decades, China is preparing to launch stimulus measures in the hundreds of billions of dollars.
