Central: A global bank seeking to storm the Egyptian banking sector


(MENAFN – Al-Borsa News) Gamal Negm, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, said today that a large international bank has contacted the Central Bank to obtain a license to work in the Egyptian banking sector

Regarding the sale of the Bank Audi branch in Egypt, Najm said that the First Abu Dhabi Bank had obtained approvals from the Central Bank of Egypt to start operations of anonymous technical examination of the Lebanese Bank.

In statements to reporters on the sidelines of the annual conference of the Union of Arab Banks, Najm added that the new banking law is currently being discussed in the Parliamentary Economic Committee and then discussed in a plenary session.

On the other hand, the star of the decline of the Egyptian pound against the dollar during the past few years attributed to large financial flows to the Egyptian economy, including tourism revenues and remittances from Egyptians abroad, indicating the ability of the Egyptian financial system to adapt to financial developments in the region and the world.
