Munich: Bayern Munich stars and officials have waived 20% of their salaries in the face of the effects of the Corona crisis.
The move came after talks between the club’s leadership and the football team’s board.
The club explained that its players and officials intended to give a signal of solidarity in the difficult time, in addition to this step that comes as an attempt to spare the club’s employees the damages that threaten them due to the crisis.
Carl-Heinz Rummenigge, the club’s CEO, fellow executive leadership Oliver Kahn, and Hassan Salih Hamidic, the club’s sports director, had discussed with the team board various scenarios.
Bayern’s football team includes Manuel Neuer, captain and vice-presidents Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski, as well as David Alaba, Joshua Kimmich and Thiago.
With this, all players, members of the Board of Directors and all members of the Supervisory Board waived 20% of their salaries.
