Australia issues orders to broadly close companies and businesses against the Coronavirus

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison Sunday ordered many places and business areas, including bars, clubs, gyms and cinemas, to close from midday on Monday to combat the outbreak of the new Corona virus after it appeared that many people ignored health warnings and gathered in large numbers in the past days.

After the spread was relatively slow, the number of infections rose rapidly in Australia, with 1,098 cases confirmed as of Sunday and seven deaths related to the disease.

“I deeply regret that these workers and the owners of these businesses will be affected by this decision and will suffer from the economic difficulties that they will undoubtedly face now,” Morrison said in a speech to the nation on Sunday.

He added that restaurants, cafes and catering businesses will only deliver orders.
