Turki Al-Sheikh had submitted his resignation from the honorary presidency of Al-Ahly Club, but the Red Castle administration has not yet responded to it, whether by acceptance or rejection.
Al-Sheikh said through his official account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “Since I submitted my resignation, I have not wanted or answered any contact, and, as I told you, for every recent incident at the appropriate time.”
He added: “If you do not accept my resignation, I will freeze the honorary presidency of Al-Ahly Club until the upcoming elections for the club’s board of directors.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Sheikh made it clear on Wednesday evening that his resignation from Al-Ahly’s honorary presidency is linked to several factors, most notably his many practical ties, in addition to his ownership of the Spanish club Almeria and the start of negotiations to acquire another club in Europe or South America.
This resignation is the second for the Sheikh’s family from Al-Ahly’s honorary presidency after he resigned for the first time on May 24, 2019, due to disputes with the club’s board of directors headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
Despite the reconciliation between the two parties on the first of November 2019, Al-Sheikh announced on Monday, his resignation for the second time from Al-Ahly’s honorary presidency.
