15.72 billion riyals of bank deposits of Saudi banks during 2019

Deposits of deposits of Saudi banks’ clients during 2019 amounted to about 15.72 billion riyals, which constituted 0.87 percent of the total deposits at the end of 2019, amounting to about 1.808 trillion riyals.
According to the monitoring unit of the reports in the “Al-Iqtisadiya” newspaper, based on the financial statements of the Saudi banks published on the website of the Saudi Stock Exchange Company (Tadawul), the highest percentage of deposit expenses out of the value of deposits for Saudi banks was about 1.57 percent, while the lowest percentage was 0.13 percent.
Deposits expenses during the year 2019 increased by 27.7 percent, as its value in 2018 was about 12.32 billion riyals.
The value of the deposits of Saudi banks by the end of 2019 amounted to 1.808 trillion riyals, and the value of the demand deposits, including about 1.128 trillion riyals, which are deposits on which banks do not pay commission like other deposits, such as savings deposits, and thus constitute 62.4 per cent of the total value of deposits.
Despite the increase in the expenses of deposits, but when compared to the deposits of banks, we find that their percentage is low, as in 2019 it reached about 0.87 per cent and in 2018 about 0.72 per cent.
By distributing the ratio of the expenses of deposits to the value of deposits for each bank, it is clear that Al-Rajhi Bank is the lowest in the ratio, as it reached in 0.13 per cent of its total deposits in 2019 amounting to 312.41 billion riyals by the end of 2019.
It was followed by the Saudi British Bank with a rate of 0.72 per cent in 2019. Then Al Bilad Bank increased by 0.78 per cent. The National Bank increased by 0.82%. And “Samba” by 0.91 per cent. And Riyad Bank by 1.00 per cent.
Alinma Bank followed by 1.09 percent. Bank Aljazira increased by 1.23%. And Arab Bank at 1.34 per cent. The Saudi Fransi Bank increased by 1.54%. The Saudi Investment Bank is the highest by 1.57%.
