Search for scores under the rubble amid scenes of destruction

Media and media outlets broadcast video footage showing the moment of the powerful earthquake that rocked eastern Turkey late Friday evening, killing at least 20 people, injuring hundreds, and collapsing several buildings in the Azazig region, the epicenter of the earthquake.

According to the Reuters news agency, the government TRT station reported in its report snapshots of the moment when the earthquake occurred inside one of the buildings, where the furniture appeared as the house shook heavily and some fell, and in another shot we watch a group of people rushing outside one of the buildings.

While the pioneers of the communication sites exchanged many shots inside some of the supermarkets, and in one of them appears a group of people rushing to try to get out of the building, and in another tape a vendor appears while he is sitting in his shop, but suddenly everything shocks and the goods fall and he rushes out.

Several footage also showed scores of dozens of workers using shovels to dig in a house that partially collapsed in Alazig, windows were shattered and terraces of at least four floors collapsed.

Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority said early Saturday: 16 people were killed in Alazig and four others in the neighboring province of Malatya. She added that about 920 people were injured and taken to hospitals in the area.

Interior Minister Suleiman Soilo said: The emergency personnel are searching for 30 people under the rubble.
