The new imaging system combines a high-speed imaging system that Wang previously developed, with another ancient technology known as “contrast color optical microscopy.”

The “heterogeneous optical microscopy technology”, invented by Polish physicist Fritz Zerniech 100 years ago, works by taking advantage of the slowdown and acceleration of light waves when penetrating various materials.

How the camera works

The part responsible for rapid imaging in that system consists of a technique that Wang calls “ultra-high-speed full encoding coding technology”, and unlike most high-speed video imaging technologies that capture a set of consecutive images during repeating events, the “coding technology” system captures one shot , All movements that occur during the capture time of that shot are recorded until its completion.
