The activities of the mixed maritime exercise, “Morgan-16”, was launched in the Southern Fleet (Safaga) between the Saudi navy and its Egyptian counterpart, in the presence of the commander of the Red Sea Naval Base, Major General Staff Staff Hazem Hamed.

According to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”, the exercise is divided into two phases, starting with the arrival of a group of special marine security units to begin the start of lectures until the arrival of ships and helicopters to start the exercise exercises, where the Saudi side participates in this exercise with a group of ships, helicopters and special maritime security units. The exercise continues from 25/5/1441 AH to 5/6/1441 AH.

The “Morgan-16” exercise also comes after 15 copies, the last of which was the “Morgan-15” exercise in the Western Fleet in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is considered an extension of a series of previous joint exercises between the two countries. To that includes many exercises that enhance maritime security measures in the region, and unify the concepts of naval combat work in the Red Sea.

The exercise aims to raise combat readiness, exchange experiences and acquire combat skills through precision in planning and professionalism in implementation and the ability to exercise command and control procedures for different units in the theater of operations, and to enhance cooperation between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the Egyptian Navy in the field of various training and unify operational concepts between The two sides to confront threats in the whole region and unify the combat concepts among the elements of the marine special units.

To that it includes a number of hypotheses that were carefully planned in advance, which correspond to the capabilities of the participating units in terms of combat capabilities and advanced systems that enhance their combat readiness.
