The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh, stressed the importance of teaching English at a young age, pointing out that teaching it in the first grade of primary school may start the year after next.
The minister revealed that a specialized team was formed to study the matter and make comparisons in coordination with a number of universities, noting that teaching English is among the projects that the ministry is studying.
With regard to teaching music, arts and theater within the curriculum in schools, the minister said that theater and art existed originally as a cultural activity in all schools, explaining that teaching music and arts is within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture.
