In a strange incident, a wedding party in India was canceled after the groom’s father and the mother of the bride disappeared, just 11 days before the wedding, in what is believed to be “the flight of lovers,” according to the Times of India.
The local newspaper reported that the newlyweds, from Gujarat in the far west of India, were looking forward to getting married next February, a year of planning.
The wedding was postponed after the 48-year-old groom’s father and 46-year-old mother of the bride disappeared less than two weeks before the upcoming wedding.
The newspaper said that the groom’s father worked in the textile and wool trade, and he disappeared from his home in the Katargam area in Surat city, while the mother of the bride was seen leaving her house in Nafsari.
Both families reported that the couple were missing, but they are suspected of having decided to flee together after love awoke their old feelings since they were childhood.
A relative of the two families told the newspaper that they know each other, as they lived in the same area, while friends of their two revealed a relationship in the past after their disappearance.
