He emphasized that the lifting of subsidies would not affect the prices of “coolant” and even eggs, as was rumored

Chairman of the Council of Cooperative Societies, CEO of the Arab Cooperative Company for Poultry Assets Abdullah Kadman, revealed the truth of what was circulated yesterday about the trend of refrigerated poultry companies to raise prices to a rate of 12% after the decision to lift the support for feed inputs, explaining that this is not correct, and that raising the support will not affect On prices for chilled chicken and even eggs as rumor.

“Kidman” said that changing the state subsidy for feed to be for the farmer instead of the factories, and turned into the final product, which is the owner of the farm, and therefore there is no change in prices for the final consumer, since there are no differences in price.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture had revealed earlier its preparations to launch a project to reorient the subsidy for feed inputs, to pay direct financial support to all poultry projects in Saudi Arabia, as part of the Ministry’s strategic plan to improve efficiency and increase productivity to contribute to enhancing food security, and to encourage the poultry sector On growth to reach coverage of 60% of the domestic market demand for poultry meat, and 100% of table eggs.

The program included redirecting financial support for licensed poultry projects to be paid directly to these projects, depending on the type of product, in contrast to the previous method of support. The exchange will start at the end of January 2020.

The Ministry confirmed that this step would maximize the benefit from government support to raise production efficiency, and improve the quality of the local product for all poultry production projects, in addition to contributing to the stability of the cost of poultry prices to the final consumer, achieving sector professionalism, and contributing to employment.

This step comes within the program of re-orientation of agricultural subsidies that was launched in October of the year 2019, by disbursing livestock subsidies by directing government support to the accounts of young breeders directly in light of the generous support from the wise leadership – may God bless it – for everything in the development of the sector Agricultural, and its sustainability.
