The Kentucky restaurant chain has apologized for an advertisement it made in Australia that it described as “suggestive of sexual”.
“We apologize if we offended anyone with our recent announcement. It was not our intention to negatively paint a stereotype of women and boys,” said a company spokesperson for the South Pacific Department of the company.
In the announcement, which does not exceed 15 seconds, a young woman looks at her image, which is reflected on the windows of a parked car. Then the car window opens, showing two boys stunned in her chest before she smiles and says, “Has anyone said KFC?”
Australian television began broadcasting the ad 3 weeks ago, and was placed on Kentucky on YouTube, which sparked controversy on social media.
