FilGoal | News | Mohamed Abdel Shafi sues impersonator in Instagram

Mohamed Abdel Shafi, the left back of the Zamalek team, revealed that someone impersonated his character through a fake account on the social networking site “Instagram”, and decided to prosecute him.

And Abdul Shafi indicated that the account that bears his name and is authenticated on Instagram has nothing to do with it.

Abdul Shafi said: “The person who impersonated me stole my bag a while ago and had my passport and used it to document the page.”

Abdel Shafi revealed, “I tried to contact him in order to close the account and not to speak my name, but to no avail.”

“I decided to prosecute him in order to preserve my rights, especially since he publishes some statements and attributes them to me without speaking,” the player said in statements to the club’s official website.

The back of Acer Zamalek concluded his statements, “I assure everyone that I do not have any account on Instagram or Facebook and any page bearing my name has nothing to do with it and I must explain to the fans of Zamalek.”

Zamalek is preparing to face Mazembe next Friday in the fifth round matches of the group stage of the African Champions League.
