Despite the successive threats and the tone of escalation that the Iranian regime adopted against America, after the killing of Qassem Soleimani With an American strikeOn Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif reiterated that Iran does not rule out negotiations with the United States.

In an interview with the German magazine “Der Spiegel” from Tehran, Muhammad Jawad Zarif said that he “does not exclude at all the possibility that people change their approach and realize the facts.”

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have escalated since 2018, when President Donald Trump announced the U.S. withdrawal from the nuclear agreement with Iran and the imposition of tough sanctions that crippled the Iranian economy.

But Zarif indicated that Iran was still ready for dialogue, despite his country’s previous demand that the United States first have to lift sanctions.

He told Der Spiegel: “For us, it does not matter who is sitting in the White House, what matters is how he behaves … The Trump administration can correct its past and return to the negotiating table. We are still at the negotiating table, they are the ones who left.”

It is noteworthy that most of the officials of the Iranian regime, the Revolutionary Guards, and even Iran’s proxies in the region threatened to take revenge for Suleimani, but Zarif’s statements came to confirm that these threats to local consumption inside Iran and its militia supporters in the region.

Tehran has stepped up its rhetoric against the United States after the Quds Force commander was killed in an American strike on the Baghdad airport campus on January 3.

“The resistance fighters in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and other places that I do not want to mention are now preparing to take some action,” the Iranian news agency, Fares, quoted Mohsen Rezai, the secretary of the Expediency Council, as saying earlier. He added: “I recommend the Iranian people to be patient, because taking military steps is marked by frameworks and rules, and the more we can abide by them, the more slapped we will be.”
