Yesterday, the Asir region secretariat removed about 952 m 2 of encroachments in the Minsk Valley, in the city of Abha, and removed all incompatible with the valley.

The Director General of Licenses and Comprehensive Supervision, Dr. Muhammad Al-Awawi, explained that the Secretariat continued the work of removing encroachments on the Minsk Valley starting from yesterday at the critical sites within the removal work carried out by the Secretariat for the fourth stage with the aim of expanding the torrents of streams and establishing ferries to prevent the risks of torrents.

This comes in implementation of the directives of the Governor of the Asir region, Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, and with continuous follow-up by the Secretary of the Asir region, Dr. Walid Al-Humaidi, in order to complete the projects under implementation after the technical control teams have in turn removed the buildings that interfere with the valley.

For his part, the director of technical supervision, Eng. Mohamed Al Khairi, indicated that the campaign to remove encroachments on valleys continues, especially as they pose a threat to property and the lives of citizens.

He indicated that work teams have been formed to continue the work of removing buildings that intersect with the Minsk Valley in its fourth stage, which is considered a very critical area in times of rain, and the flow of torrents, indicating that a road map has been put in place to liberate the remaining area of ​​the Minsk Valley.
