The office of the leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, said that the membership of one of the leaders of the movement, Asaad al-Nasiri, known for his support of the protests in the country, has been suspended.

The office added, in a statement issued by it: “In view of the violations committed by Sheikh Asaad Al-Nasiri and his statements on social networking sites regarding the recent events, he must immediately leave the revolutionaries of Al-Nasiriyah and not interfere with their self-determination, neither negatively nor positively.”

The office continued in its statement: “Al-Nasiri is considered frozen from now until further notice, because he disobeyed the orders of the Al-Sadr family and his covenant with the martyr, and he ceased to be authoritarian and in love with the world.”

The statement also said: “If he is compelled to change his thoughts, there is no need to adhere to wearing the honorable aunt, and he does not enter the chest line with his ideas.”
